Academic
Stuart has a portfolio responsibility for academic professional development for new staff.

Stuart is an academic adviser for the Professional Development for Casual Academic Staff program.

Stuart presented a professional development session for the School of Information Systems entitled Some issues in assessment: Some examples from engineering.

Stuart made a contribution to a professional development forum for the School of Engineering and Information Technology entitled Enhancing learning experiences for off-campus students.

Stuart made a contribution to a professional development workshop for the School of Health and Social Development entitled Orienting Undergraduate Students to their Future Careers from Day 1 of their Course - some perspectives from engineering. (note - 4.4 MB ppt file)

Stuart was invited to co-present a session on e-portfolios at the University of Plymouth's Teaching and Learning Conference on 4 July 2008.

Stuart is the ITL representative on two STALGS projects for 2008:

Research
Stuart retains a strong interest in Frequency Domain Analysis.

Stuart (as a team member with Dale Holt) was awarded a $219,000 Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC - formerly Carrick Institute) Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Program Grant (for 2008 and 2009) for the project entitled Strategic leadership for institutional teaching and learning centres: developing a model for the 21st century.
