Stuart contributed to the re-development of SEB221 for wholly online delivery in 2005. Research SEJ443 project student Iman Joud was awarded a $5000 Honours Scholarship from Australian Wool Innovation for her project Optimisation of an automated method for assessment of fabric pilling intensity based on computer image analysis. At the 2004 conference of the Victorian Association for Library Automation Stuart and Barry Tucker were invited to make a showcase presentation of the research case study documented in the paper Integration of information literacy training into engineering and technology education. Stuart was awarded $5,000 from the University Planning and Resources Committee under the Higher Education Equity Program (HEEP) for the research project entitled Impact of Mandatory On-campus Residential Sessions on Rural and Isolated Students Studying Engineering and Technology Courses in Off-Campus Mode. Development/Consulting Stuart is a member of the technical committee for the 15th Annual Conference for Australasian Association for Engineering Education. The 2003 Deakin Online Teaching and Learning Fellowship projects website has been included in the Education Networks Australia (EdNA) website on the e-Learning in Higher Education page under 'Projects'. Stuart was invited to be interviewed for the development of video case studies on effective learning environments for the Graduate Certificate of Higher Education unit - EEE713 Teaching in Tertiary Education. Stuart was invited to make a presentation on the use of WebCT Vista in teaching & learning to a visiting group from the UK Open University. Stuart was invited to chair a presentation session of the 15th Annual Conference for Australasian Association for Engineering Education. Stuart was invited to act as a manuscript referee for the journal Computers & Education. Stuart secured $3000 university academic professional development funding for, and organised, a two-day APD session for academic staff on the topic of 'Developing graduate attributes in professional education'.
